Abstract:

Exploring active tectonics considering earthquake in different area is very important. These movements have effect on the earth and each one the effects is visible around us. This research aimed to analyze and compare the tectonic activities of two basins of Hable Roud and Kordan. In addition to field observations, 10m DEM, Landsat images, and softwares such as Arc GIS Global Mapper13 were applied to draw maps and analyze data. Applied INDEXES in this research were fan comicality index(FCI), width to valley height (Vf), drainage basin shape (BS), sinuosity of mountain fronts (Smf), index to assess basin asymmetry (T), drainage basin asymmetry (Af), river sinuosity index (S), and relative tectonic activity index (IAT). Through IAT, the whole outcome of tectonic activities by the above-mentioned INDEXES can be measured in tectonic regions. According to the IAT classification, both basins are active tectonically however the rate of tectonic activities in the Kordan basin is greater than in Hablerod basin. Active tectonic, according to IAT index in Kordan basin is assigned to class 1 and Hable Roud basin is assigned to class 2. According to IAT classification, new-tectogenesis activities is more in Kordan region rather than Hablerod region. Though this is a general conclusion, it emphasizes on the necessity of attention to morpho tectonic evidence. It also shows that such studies must be performed in all southern basins of Alborz Mountain and be compared with one another to have better understanding. The ideal research is the outcome of an applicable look on morpho tectonic INDEXES and morpho tectonic evidences via new methods as well.

Abstract:

The Northeastern slope of Karkas Mountain is regarded as part of the Karkas mountain range which is located in south west of Natanz County and has spread along northwest-southeast directions. The study area has been placed in volcanic stretch of Urmia-Dokhtar (Tabriz-Bazman) area. Shrew and Schtoklin (quoted in Paroohan, 2001), have announced this area to be a broken and active axis with regards to volcanism (during upper Cretaceous-Eocene) and plutonic (Oligocene and Miocene). The main fault of the area is part of Qom-Zafreh fault being started from south west of Natanz and continues toward Zafreh. It is a right-lateral strike-out fault which has dug out quaternary alluviums in the northern Natanz. The displacement of water courses is usually right-oriented and the youngest fault is seen due to this mechanism in young alluvial fans of south west heights of Kashan. For the recognition of tectonic activities in the area under study we have used various geomorphologic INDEXES such as the mountain front congregation, length gradient of the river, the ration of valley bottom to its height and the morphometry of alluvial fans. Results obtained indicate that Northwestern slopes of the Karkas Mountains are still tectonically active.

Abstract:

Neo-tectonics is the study of horizontal and vertical motions of Earth’s crust originating from the late periods of Neogen and Quaternary. Many researchers have defined tectotecnic as “the beginning of Earth’s crust motions after the earliest orogenic phase” (Stipancikova et al., 2008, p.68). Since there is no possibility of having access to the old seismic reflection data in many areas and some methods of measuring active tectotecnics are very expensive (seismic methods), the use of morphometric INDEXES to detect and determine the active tectonics is of great importance. Therefore, “GEOMORPHIC INDEXES are useful materials to analyze Earth’s forms and to measure the tectotecnic activities in many areas” (Guarnier & Pirrota, 2008, p.265).

Abstract:

Tectonic, plays a key role in the evolution of morphology and can be distinguished with morphotectonic, rivers and structural parameters. An analysis of morphometric parameters illustrates that the development of them is associated with faults activities and rocks resistance. Morphotectonic analysis also supplies seismotectonic setting for a region. For appropriate and survey tectonic activities of Piranshahr fault in south west of Azarbaijan province as Northest part of Zagross Main Recent Fault, the morphotectonic indices contain: Ratio of Valley-mouth width to Valley Height, Ratio of Valley-floor width to Valley Height, Ratio of Vc and Mountain Front Sinuosity has been calculated. The results of several indices are incorporated to highlight tectonic activity and provide an assessment of a high degree of morphotectonic, Neotectonic activities. Piranshahr fault with 95 km length produced a seismic hazard magnitude ~ 6.9 in Richter scale.

Introduction: The complexity of the phenomenon of time and its meaning has always been considered an obstacle to understanding the nature of time. Time is an important phenomenon in detailed discussions about its nature, particularly in philosophy and physics filed. Sun, Earth and rotations should be considered a major factor in the definition of the concept of astronomical time. The effect of twenty-four-hour in organisms is consisted of the large part of their biological activities. Even questions about the latitude of more than 70 degrees as well. This question is deeply connecting us to other concepts of time events....

Abstract:

GEOMORPHIC INDEXES can be a useful tool for investigating the impact of active tectonics and the identification of related anomalies, especially in areas that quantitative research work has been done. The study area is a part of the Central Iranian structural-sedimentary zone, located in the Saveh area. By studying the geological and topographic maps and using digital elevation data, it was evaluated the rate of relative active tectonics of this area, using some of the GEOMORPHIC INDEXES such as Hi, Re, Bs, AF, Vf, Vc, V, SL, Smf and Iat. These INDEXES which have been measured and compared in eight fronts and nine basins (Shur-payeinii, Lar, Bidlu, Amirabad, Shur-baleii, Eshtehard, Buin Zahra, Arab and Kharrud) resulted to present the active tectonic zonation map for the study area. The measured Hi index shows the relative maturity of all basins and the Arab basin has the most relative tectonic activity compared to other basins. The Re index shows the highest elongation for Lar, Bidlu and Kharrud basins and the least elongation for Shur-payeinii basin. The AF index shows the highest uplift for the Bidlu basin, which is located on the right side of this basin. Vf, Vc and V INDEXES represent the lowest rate of activity in the valleys which are located on the border between the Shur-baleii and Amirabad basins, the southern part is the Lar basin and the border between Amirabad and Bidlu basins. The Kharrud, Buin Zahra and Arab basins are the most active basins based on the SL index. The Smf index indicates the high activity for all basins. According to active tectonic zonation map, it is possible to show that on the border between the Eshtehard, Shur-baleii, Lar, Bidlu and Amirabad basins which are located in 1 class, have the highest degree of activity. These basins are affected by behavior Jaru, Gomorkan, Ipak, Takidagh, and Alishar faults. Other parts along the mountain fronts are also located in 2 class and are active. The low-lying areas (Kharrud, Buin Zahra and Arab basins) located in 3 class, have the least degree of activity. The highest rate of SL index is for Kharrud, Buin Zahra and Arab basins. This high rate resulted to the seismic and active Ipak fault. According to Smf index, Amirabad basin is the most active basins. Vf index represent the lowest rate which are located on the border between the Shur-baleii and Amirabad basins. This border is located on Jaru and Gomorkan faults.

Abstract:

The study measured the forms and landscapes caused by tectonic activity is the subject of tectonic geomorphology. Fans of such forms of tectonic activity along the tectonic that climate change is the most important factor controlling them. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of tectonic factors in the development and morphology changes of the alluvial fans of Jajroud, Heble Roud and Eyvankei. In this study, the topographic maps, geology, satellite photos and the digital elevation model (DEM) were used as the main data. In addition, the morphology of the alluvial fans of the region was studied closely and through a field study. Then, using the GEOMORPHIC INDEXES which includes the sinuosity of the mountain in-front (SMF) Ratio of valley floor width to valley height (VF), Drainage Asymmetry factor (AF), Stream Length-Gradient Index (SL), Transverse Topographic Symmetry Factor (T), Fan Comicality Index (FCI), the region in terms of tectonic activities were assessed. Through combination of these INDEXES the index of active tectonic (Iat) were obtained. The results show that according to the Iat amounts, the region is active in terms of neotectonic activities. So that Heble Roud alluvial fans are ranked as the geologic activities are high and for Eyvankei and Jajroud alluvial fans are placed at the medium level of geologic activities. The database of Institute of Geophysics, University of Tehran (1937-2012) has recorded the most earthquakes near the fault of Garmsar, especially in the western parts of it; and it seems that it has more activity than its eastern part.

Abstract:

According to GEOMORPHIC systems affecting the settlement of areas, including in the planning and urban management. Due to the geographical location and structural the Kerman and performance of various systems of agents, such systems are alluvial, Aeolian and morphotectonic Implementation and management of all development plans need to be obsessively this space very carefully done. The incidence of serious risks such as ground subsidence, loss of water resources, tectonic activity and Aeolian processes in the atmosphere is solid evidence of this claim. Kerman is located at a point that many factors can affect its normal study of factors influencing the reduction of environmental hazards can be effective. The purpose of this study demonstrates the effect of natural factors and the impact of Kerman urban development on the intensity of negative factors affecting external. This research is trying to use GIS techniques to evaluate GEOMORPHIC systems the Kerman range of factors influencing the mapping of processes to check. The results show that morphotectonic systems, including Fluvial and Aeolian systems are effective the Kerman. The maps show that the levels of native lands, and large parts of the Kerman planar surfaces with low slope and covered with alluvial deposits and clay zones form. This can have a considerable impact on the intensity of risks.
